We have to give it up for Millie Bobby Brown; the courageous 12-year-old not only shaved her head for a role on the new series, Stranger Things, she tweeted a full video of it to share with the world! Watch it now and see why it sparked a flame under our obsession with short hair.

Millie Bobbie Brown, the actress who plays Eleven on Netflix’ “Stranger Things” rocks a seriously bold hairstyle on the hit series. In honor of her brave act of buzzing off her locks for the role, we decided to share our list of favorite “Strandless Femmes.” We love our short haired ladies out there, but let’s all just take a moment of silence for all the luscious locks that were lost in the making of this compilation.

Jennifer Lawrencejlaw pixie

Back in 2013 J-Law surprised everyone with a glamorous pixie. In an interview that she did with Teen Vogue, she told the world about her thoughts behind cutting her long locks. “It grew to that awkward gross length and I kept putting it into a bun, so I just cut it off,” she explained. “It couldn’t have gotten any uglier!”

Alicia KeysAlicia keys pixie

Alicia can not only rock a pixie, she can rock all the different styles of a pixie. Our personal favorite is when she fabulously sports a bowl cut. Who would have thought that the the tragic, 90’s haircut would wiggle it’s way back into fashion. Regardless of it’s past, we love the bowl cut especially when it’s worn by Alicia Keys.

Anne Hathaway pixieAnne Hathaway

Anne put her career first and chopped her luxuriant hair cut off for a scene in the 2012 movie, Les Miserables. It was quite the change but short hair worked for her face shape. She has grown it out since and has it back to shoulder length, but we think she rocks the short hair!

Hayden Panettiere

Hayden has had too many looks to count. One of our favorites is when she chopped her flowing locks into a sassy pixie! Not only was the cut itself adorable, the following grow-out stage was fun to watch as well. She rocked the whole process!

Natalie portman pixieNatalie Portman

Natalie, another career driven actress,  shaved her head for a role in the 2006 movie, V for Vendetta. With her cute and spunky attitude, we think a shaved head was perfect for her. Fast-forward to today and she is back to her long mane which, of course, looks just as perfect!

Charlize TheronCharlize Theron pixie

Charlize bravely buzzed her head for a role in the 2015 film, Mad Max: Fury Road. Although she had shorter hair in the past, it was still a new look. Our opinion is: when you have eyes that pop like hers, you can do whatever you want with your hair!

Rihanna pixie

Rihanna’s look is ever changing. She has never been a stranger to short hair. Whenever she ops for a pixie, it makes us swoon. With her bright smile and perfect face shape, a pixie looks stunning on her!

Demi MooreDemi Moore pixie

Everyone knows that Demi is nothing less than fierce. When she shaved her head for a role in G.I. Jane,  it only added to her fierceness. With her strong jaw line and pouty lips, we thought she was a buzzed-hair babe.

Halle Berry pixieHalle Berry

Let’s timehop back 1989 when Halle first cut her hair. She looked amazing with short hair! Over the years, she’s toyed with long and short hair but we have to say that short-haired Halle is our absolute favorite!

Emma WatsonEmma watson pixie

Emma is bold and needed a haircut to match! In 2010, after finishing the Harry Potter series, Emma chopped her medium-length hair into a magical pixie. It was a fun change for awhile. Eventually she did start to grow it out, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that she rejoins the pixie world in the near future.

As much as we lust after a good short-hair do, we think these women are beautiful no matter their hair length.  Is your favorite pixie cut missing from this list? Let us know on Facebook or in the comments.
